Daily Hope phoneline

Daily Hope phoneline

Daily Hope offers hymns, prayers and reflections as well as full worship services from the Church of England at the end of a telephone line. All calls are free.

It is a Church of England initiative in partnership with Connections at Holy Trinity Claygate and Faith in Later Life. The Daily Hope line – which is available 24 hours a day on 0800 804 8044 – has been set up particularly with those unable to join online church services, during the period of restrictions, in mind.

Archbishop Justin Welby says
“with many in our country on lockdown, it’s important that we support those who are feeling lonely and isolated, whatever age they are."

A section called Hymn Line offers callers a small selection of hymns, updated daily. An option entitled ‘Hymns We Love’, provides a hymn and reflection and is based on an initiative by the Connections group. There is a 'Prayers during Coronavirus' section and other options include traditional Morning and Evening Prayer and a recording of the Church of England weekly national online service.

As well as taking a listen to this phoneline yourself, please do pass the number on to anybody, who you know, who doesn't have access to the internet and may enjoy listening on their telephone.
