Collection

During our services an offertory (or collection) will be taken. This money goes to the church to pay for our vicar and towards the running cost of the diocese in what’s known as the parish share, our heating, insurance, lighting and many other regular costs.
As part of our income, we also give 10% away to various charities, nominated by the PCC each year.
Some people make regular donations via standing order so may seem to ignore the collection plate, others make regular donations in blue envelopes or by cash. If you are a visitor to our church, and would like to make a donation using a card or by phone, then please look out for the QR codes located in the coffee area at Emmanuel or in the Narthex at St James, or simply ask a sidesperson what to do. Our December heating bills (for both churches) amounted to almost £2,000, so all donations, large or small, are very much appreciated.
