Church finances and the Corona Virus
Dear All,
Several people have approached me (from a safe distance of course) to ask what they should do about their regular giving whilst the church is closed for services. We are extremely grateful to all those who can continue to give as usual as many of the church’s financial commitments still have to be met – parish share, insurance, an element of utility bills, maintenance costs etc. We are also suffering from a reduced income due to the absence of lettings, fund raising activities, regular coffee mornings, refreshments, the list goes on. At the same time I can fully appreciate that for some this is a worrying time financially, pension funds may have dipped, businesses are laying-off workers and for some of us our freelance employment has simply evaporated almost overnight. So in the light of all this I would like to make the following suggestions:
• If you are able to continue with your regular standing order that is brilliant and the church is very grateful, if you feel you need to decrease (or you’d like to increase) contributions then please do so via your bank and drop me a line if you can so that I can keep accounts up to date.
• If you normally give via the envelope scheme or cash on the plate and feel you could move to a standing order then that would be much appreciated, your bank will require the following details:

Sort Code: 60-13-16 (Nat West)
Account Number: 40113485
Please add your name as the reference as we may be able to reclaim tax as part of the Gift Aid scheme in the future.
• If you’d prefer to stick to cash and simply want to put your contributions to one side each week, in a safe place of course, that’s also fine. Hopefully before too long we will all be able to worship again together.
